Welcome to the Paphos Golfers Association.
About Us
The Paphos Golfers Association (PGA) was formed in 2006 to provide an alternative for keen Golfers who could not justify the expense of joining on a full time basis one of the four Golf clubs in the Paphos region.
As an association with a strong membership we can negotiate very competitive rates when booking our competitions throughout the year at the four main courses in Paphos namely – Elea, Minthis, Secret Valley and Aphrodite Golf Clubs.
We take our golf seriously and expect all our members to attain a han
dicap relevant to their skill level. However we play for the love of the game, the opportunity to meet new friends, socialize both on and off the course and have fun along the way.
We cater for and welcome all skill levels of golfer from the seasoned player, someone looking to return to the game or looking to try it for the first time! Age ranges from 18 to 85 and we welcome new members every year.
The association became members of the Cyprus Golf Federation (CGF) in 2008, and all the association’s members will be provided with a WHS handicap once qualifying scores have been submitted.
Competitions
The Association holds two PGA handicap qualifying competitions per month.
The Monthly Stableford Competition is held on the first Sunday of each month and is held at one of the four golf clubs in the Paphos area (Aphrodite Hills, Secret Valley, Minthis and Elea).
The Mid-Monthly Stableford Competition is generally held on the third Sunday of each month and in these competitions you have the opportunity to chose which tee you play off, White/Yellow for men and Yellow/Red for women. We also play a 'Black Tee' challenge a few times per year for the brave and fearless!?
SOCIAL GOLF
In addition to the official PGA competitions, a 
good proportion of our members (who are 'Platinum Off-peak' members at Elea Golf Club) arrange 'Social Golf' at Elea Golf Club only, on Wednesday and Friday afternoons and on a Sunday morning if there is no PGA competition being held.
These competitions are varied, fun and a chance to get to know everyone as 4 balls are drawn at random so you get the chance to play with all levels of golfer and meet new people in a more relaxed setting.
MEMBERSHIP
New members are always welcome and if you 
would like to have a round or two before deciding, we are more than happy to arrange a game at one of our 'Social Golf' events held at Elea Golf Club every Wednesday & Friday each week!
The PGA year runs from January to December and there is a one-off joining fee of €50 which gets you a Membership Card, PGA Golf Shirt and a full calendar of well organized Competition and Social Golf throughout the Year.
Annual subscription is €50/year which is
applied on a sliding scale dependent on the time of year you join. There is also a requirement that all members of the PGA have a CGF licence/handicap. Membership of the CGF is an additional €50/year, and for those that aren’t already members of the CGF, this can be arranged for
you by the PGA.
SOCIAL EVENTS
The Association also has an active social side, which as well 
as organising informal mid-week competitions, also include two match-play competitions on Captain’s Day and Chairman’s Day which are usually match-play competitions followed by an evening dinner.
We also play a match-play knock-out competition (MEKO Trophy) each year with the winner and runner up forwarded to the inter-club CGF Matchplay Competition organized by the CGF (Cyprus Golf Federation)
